EMISAccess is provided by our IT system supplier EMIS and enables patients to book appointments or order repeat prescriptions online, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Appointments
The appointments module allows you to book appointments with a GP up to four weeks ahead. Only a limited number of appointments are available on the site, mostly pre-bookable ones, and so it is most useful for patients wishing to book non-urgent appointments a few days ahead. Nevertheless, it is sometimes possible to book an appointment on the next working day.
At present, nurses' appointments are not available for online booking, but this may be provided at some time in the future.
Repeat prescriptions
Repeat prescriptions can also be ordered using EMISAccess. Using this module, your authorised repeat prescriptions are listed and you simply tick those that you wish to order. You can check on the site whether your prescription request has been processed.
How do I use it?
You first need to register in order to create a personal ID and password. To do this, you must obtain registration details from the surgery. For security reasons, we ask you to call at the surgery in person. Simply call in at Reception and ask to register for EMISAccess. The process only takes two or three minutes. In exceptional cases (e.g. patients with mobility difficulties), we can issue registration details without you having to attend personally. Please telephone the surgery and ask to speak to the Patient Services Manager.
