Allyson Sanderson
Our ECP provides treatment and advice on problems requiring immediate care, such as minor illness or injury (e.g. coughs, skin problems, muscle strains, sickness, etc). These are usually the type of problems where you may require same-day or next day appointments.
The Practice nursing team provides a range of nursing services, including chronic disease management, health checks and assessments, clinical tests and dressings. In addition, our patients have access to the services of Community and District Nurses, Health Visitors and Psychiatric Nurses.
Sister Jenny Jackson - Team Leader
Responsible for the nursing team and also provides specialist nursing in chronic disease management
The team comprises two specialist nurses, two treatment room nurses and a Practice Assistant. They offer specialist clinics for chronic disease management, such as asthma, COPD, heart disease and diabetes, health assessment clinics, travel health advice and vaccination. They also carry out treatment room procedures including blood tests, ear syringing, dressings and ECGs. Appointments with the nurses can be made through the receptionist.
The District Nurses
The practice is supported by a team of district nurses who provide home nursing care where necessary and maintain a constant liaison with the doctors.
Community Midwives
The community midwives are actively involved with our arrangements for the provision of antenatal and postnatal care.
Health Visitors
The practice is supported by two health visitors, who are based at the surgery and whose duties include participation in our child health clinic and community clinics, and giving advice on children's health at your home when necessary.
The health visitors can be contacted on Darlington 488060.
Community Mental Health teams
We have access to the services of the Community Mental Health teams who provide assessment and continuing specialist care of people with severe and enduring mental health problems. Teams include Community Psychiatric Nurses, Social Workers and Psychiatrists. Our GPs can also refer patients to specialist counselling services which are provided within the Practice.
The administrative team is responsible for the smooth running of the Practice, providing patient services and support for the clinical staff.
Jim Whitton - Practice Manager
Responsible for the overall management of the Practice, including Patient Services and Administration, development of services, financial control and IT.
Janice Wilkinson - Patient Services Manager
Responsible for reception staff and the appointments system.
Pat Salmon - Administration Manager
Responsible for personnel matters, secretarial staff and medical records.
Reception, secretarial and administrative team
The Receptionists are your first point of contact with the surgery and can help you with appointments and general enquiries. Secretaries assist the doctors and deal with referrals to hospital and other services, requests for medicals, etc. The administrative team looks after registration of new patients and patient records.
