IMPORTANT MESSAGE RE NOVEL CORONAVIRUS

DO NOT ENTER THE SURGERY – please ring us – be patient as our lines are understandably very busy.

As per government guidance we will be moving to a telephone triage service from Monday 16th March.

You may find it more convenient to submit an E consultation via this link. Response in 2 working days.

If your problem is more urgent please contact the surgery and a telephone appointment will be arranged.

If you have a NEW persistent cough or a high temperature above 37.8, please stay at home and self isolate for 14 days.

You can self certify for the first 7 days during isolation. If you then require a fit note/medical certificate, click on the link Isolation note.

If your symptoms worsen, please see NHS website for more information www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus or call 111.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

Coronavirus and our mental health

We know that lots of people are feeling very anxious about Coronavirus, and how it might affect them and their family and friends. Here is a really useful article that you might find helpful:

Ear Irrigation Update

Ear irrigation – under current guidelines we are not advised to continue irrigating ears.

Please continue to use olive oil or almond oil (recommended if prone to dry skin build up in ears) 2drops x2/day.
Use drops at room temperature.
Lie with the affected ear uppermost when putting in drops
stay for up to 10minutes if possible, to allow the drops to soak the wax.

After using for a couple of weeks if no improvement try otex, sodium bicarbonate or similar product (buy otc) and use as directed in the product packaging (stop using if causes any irritation)
after using as advised swap back to olive oil and continue using.
