Weekly walk-in clinic for Blacketts patients are held on a Wednesday afternoon.

Walk-in Clinics

Walk-in clinics are held on a Wednesday between 3:30pm and 5:15pm. Pop in for a consultation to discuss contraception. Condoms are also available via the C-Card scheme. You can initiate or review your contraceptive pill, patch or depo injection at the walk-in clinic.

Unwanted Pregnancy

For advice, support and a consultation appointment for termination of pregnancy at Bishop Auckland, Chester-le-Street, Darlington or Durham hospitals, phone 01388 455333 (Mon – Fri: 9am – 5pm). Counselling is also available Monday to Thursday (8am – 5pm) on 01388 455110.

Emergency Contraception

Emergency Oral Hormonal Contraception pill (sometimes called the morning after pill). Contact the surgery for an appointment or one of the community pharmacies who offer this for free:

Sexually Transmitted Infections

If you would like advice or screening for STI’s you can contact the CASH Clinic or the GUM Clinic at Darlington Memorial hospital on 01325 743203.

Under 25’s can access STI advice, testing and treatment from the Young People’s sessions at the Dolphin Centre, Monday 12:30 – 2:30pm.

The C-Card

The C- Card is scheme is available to the under 25’s and allows the patient to register for a card to access free condoms. C-Cards are available from the Healthy Darlington Hub at the Dolphin Centre, the school nurses, sexual health clinics at Darlington College and Dolphin Centre or Healthwatch, Darlington.

If you are in possession of a C-card already, free condoms can be accessed from the pharmacies listed above as well as the C-Card outlets.
